Mammoth is equipped with one of the largest handcrafted nibs on the planet #9. Special attention has been given to the oversized 45mm long nib (the life and soul of the fountain pen), which provides top writing quality. The large sized pen is handcrafted from Ebonite, a naturally produced resin material requiring special production processes. Ebonite material is very warm to the touch and its rich elasticity and unique texture provides the ultimate comfort, quality and character to the product.

The Jumbo Sized #9 Nib:

At it’s core is one of the largest handcrafted nibs on the planet #9 which offers lovely feedback and a unique writing experience paired with a specially designed Ebonite feeder for wet ink flow. Special attention has been given to the oversized 45mm long nib (the life and soul of the fountain pen), which provides top writing quality with 28mm exposed.

Material:

Balance & Control:

Despite the Mammoth’s large size, its body is nicely balanced due to the use of lightweight but sturdy Ebonite material offering improved control.

Ebonite Feeder:

Ebonite being a softer material tends to better absorb the ink and provide a juicy wet flow – a signature trait of Kanwrite designed feeders.  

Ink Filling System:  2 in 1 – Twist Converter & Reusable Cartridge (Inkwell)

1. Twist Converter of 1.2ml capacity included with the fountain pen which constantly feeds the instrument. This meticulously designed Kanwrite converter threads into the barrel to prevent any ink leakage issues. Turn the piston anticlockwise to move the piston down (push the air out) and turn it clockwise to move the piston up (draw the ink) 
2. The pen comes with a Kanwrite threaded Reusable Ink Cartridge of 2ml capacity which can be filled with ink using an eyedropper or a syringe and then capped up. This cartridge can be easily screwed on after unscrewing the threaded converter. The cartridge is designed in such a way that the cap can be screwed on to the bottom of the cartridge when in use to avoid loosing the cap.

The oversized #9 nib offers a unique writing experience with impeccable writing feedback due to the 28mm long exposed nib surface offering better precision & control while writing characters. The 4 variations of tipping- EF, F, M, B complemented with a Super Flow Ebonite feeder offers smoothness coupled with wetness.
The feeder and nib are assembled into a screw in nib unit housing which can be easily unscrewed and replaced with a compatible Kanwrite #9 nib unit.
