This is a beautiful fountain pen. Simple, classic, elegant.

It‘s quite lightweight and of a perfect size for my hands (I am female).

The resin looks very interesting and is of a nice warm colour.
At first glance, the pearlescent marble effect seems to be on the surface only. It looks as if a transparent brown pen had been dipped into different pearlescent colours (mostly gold, silver, copper) that were dripped into a water bowl, like you do it when marbling papers by hand.
Having a closer look, though, you can see that the pearlescent strings are not only on the surface but also inside of the resin. At least it seems so.
I really love the look of this resin, and in my collection, it‘s absolutely unique.

Unlike many (if not all) of the other Kanwrite fountain pen models, the feed of the Desire is made of plastic, not of ebonite. But it goes very well with this nib, so I am fine with that. Although I still definitely prefer ebonite over plastic when it comes to nib feeds.

The Desire is eyedroppable and comes readily prepared for this purpose, having an o-ring installed above the threads, and the threads are even readily greased! This really impressed me!

So far, I use the included converter, though. It holds a good amount of ink and does a good job. There are better converters on the market, of course. I haven’t tried it, yet, but it looks like you can easily replace the included converter for any international standard converter.

The nib (I chose an M here) is a very smooth writer right out of the box.
I have purchased seven Kanwrites: Four Desires, 3 Heritages. All with different nibs.
I smoothed some of them out a bit, since they had a little bit too my feedback for my taste but that would not have been necessary, since they were not scratchy at all.
One nib did skip a bit. It needed a bit extra effort to make it into a good writer.
Before I ordered, I did some research and heard that Kanwrite nibs can sometimes make problems and tend to need some tuning at the beginning.
That didn‘t keep me from buying, since I am an experienced fountain pen enthusiast and know how to handle an unpleasant nib.
To my surprise, all of the nibs that I got are excellent!! Most of them right out of the box. It‘s such a pleasure to write with them!!
All of them add a bit more character to my handwriting than my German, Chinese and Japanese nibs do.
The flex nibs, even the full flex nibs, are not extremely flexible and do not produce a huge line variation, but they do have some nice, bounce. I really appreciate that.

The nib units are easily replaceable, which is another huge pro for me. I have purchased a set of three separate nib units, so I can play around with different nib options.

All of my seven Kanwrite pens write fairly wet. Exactly the way I like it.

I am a little bit obsessed with all four of my new Desires. I can‘t stop writing with or looking at them.

The clip is beautiful, I love its shape. It‘s very functional, too, and you can even remove it, if you want, since the finnial is detachable. But I wouldn‘t recommend to remove it, since the clip definitely adds to the look of this pen.

The cap posts very well. It weighs the pen back a little bit, but that doesn‘t bother me at all. I can still hold this pen very comfortable when it‘s capped, even during long writing sessions.
Uncapped, it‘s a very cute, lightweight and well balanced pen.

One little con: All seven pens do have a certain smell. I hope that it will disappear over time.

Shipment via FedEx went very smooth as usual.
International buyers, please note that FedEx parcels do always have a stop at the customs and if there are additional tax costs in your country, you can be sure that you‘ll be charged with them – mostly a few weeks after your parcel has arrived. So you might want to do some research on the taxes in your country before purchasing here.

All in all, would I recommend the Kanwrite Desire in Marble Pearl Maroon? Absolutely yes!!!
I am so happy with my purchase!

      Dear Miss,
Thanks for your good words and normally most of the kanwrite pens write out of the box it’s only sometimes when users want to make it somewhat more personalized as per their writing needs.
      regards.
      sandeep
